38 Weeks Pregnant

At 38 weeks pregnant, you are closer to the end of the journey. Baby’s vocal cords have developed, and you may experience anxiety at times.



Your baby is of the length of 19.6 inches and weighs about 6.8 pounds this week. It is almost of the length of a stalk of rhubarb.


Now you are almost on the way. Baby’s brain and lungs are continuing developing this week. And rest of the organs is almost set for the birth. Let’s find out what is happening with your baby at this week. 

Baby getting improved in tasks like breathing, digestion and circulation on the daily basis. Baby can come any time in between 38 to 42 weeks. Mostly 40 week considered as due date.

o   Vocal cords:

Baby’s vocal cords have fully developed, hence they are ready to communicate with you after they born.

o    Head:

Mostly babies are known for their attractively heads, which are outcome of the brain power they develop in the uterus. In this situation, Head is almost in the same circumference as their abdomen does.

Mainly connections are building in their brain which further help them in swallowing and even sleep better once they born.

38 weeks Pregnant symptoms

Here are some symptoms you can observe in your body during this time of pregnancy. You may notice some of the following signs:

  1. Fatigue and Insomnia
  2. Difficulty in sleeping
  3. Indigestion or heartburn
  4. Severe headaches or DIzziness
  5. Fever
  6. Painful urination
  7. Stomach cramps
  8. Constipation or bloating
  9. Increases vaginal discharge

At this stage of pregnancy, you can experience braxton hicks contractions. Usually these contractions are painless.
